Daily immune support

Helps to maintain a well-functioning immune system for infection prevention and efficient recovery.

Older adults

Additional support for older individuals with a decreased ability to synthesize vitamin D. Helps minimize bone loss and protect against fractures.

Active individuals

Supports muscle and bone strength for optimal athletic performance.

D3K2 Target Audience

Populations with insufficient sun exposure

Individuals who lead indoor lifestyles, live in areas with limited sunlight, or use sunscreen may be at risk for low vitamin D levels. D3+K2 provides liposomal vitamin D3 - the most bioavailable form of vitamin D- to meet the daily needs for this micronutrient for year-round sufficiency.

People with darker skin tones

Supplies vitamin D to consumers whose skin synthesis of vitamin D is hindered due to the high content of melanin (a pigment found in the skin that acts as a natural sunscreen).

Plant-based consumers

Supplies vegan vitamins D3 and K2 to support potential deficiencies attributed with plant-based diets.

Ingredient Highlights

Vitamin D3 (25mcg/1000IU)

Product Features :

  • 100% plant-based vitamin D sourced from lichen.
  • Featured as vitamin D3 - estimated to be 87% more potent than the D2 form commonly found in other vegan supplements and fortified foods.
  • Sustainable alternative to animal-derived vitamin D3.

Unique Features :

  • Freeze-dried liposomal powder.

Benefits for D3+K2:

Vitamin D belongs to the group of fat-soluble, steroid compounds involved in several metabolic processes in the body. The two main forms of vitamin D are D2 (ergocalciferol) found in yeast and fungi and D3 (cholecalciferol) obtained mostly from foods of animal origin, lichen or synthesized in the body as a result of sunlight exposure. Because it is more readily converted to 25-hydroxyvitamin D - physiologically active vitamin D, cholecalciferol is regarded as a superior supplemental form of this micronutrient.

Research shows that vitamin D3:

  • Supports strong bones and teeth and reduces the risk of fractures and osteoporosis by regulating the metabolism of calcium and phosphate.
  • Encourages healthy immune function, working across both innate and adaptive immune systems.
  • Supports muscle strength for optimal physical performance.
  • Promotes normal cell division required for the growth and repair of damaged tissues.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of healthy cognitive function by participating in the formation of new neurons and providing neuroprotection.

Advantages of liposomal delivery:

Liposomes are tiny spherical vesicles made up of one or more lipid membranes surrounding the aqueous interior. Because liposomal membranes closely resemble the structure of human cell membranes, liposomes are completely biodegradable and biologically inert.

Liposomal delivery is superior for a variety of reasons:

  • Liposomes create a protective barrier, protecting the nutrient against the harmful effects of free radicals and obstacles encountered in the digestive tract i.e. low pH, digestive enzymes, etc.
  • Liposome encapsulation provides solubilization and thus can increase the bioavailability (arrival of the nutrient in the bloodstream) of otherwise poorly soluble vitamin D.
  • Vitamin D contained within the liposomes does not require the use of additional solvents (e.g. vegetable oil or ethanol).
  • Studies have shown that liposomal formula may elevate vitamin D serum concentration significantly faster than the typical oily formulation.

Vitamin D3

Ingredient Highlights

Vitamin K2 (50mcg)

Product Features :

  • 100% plant-based.

Unique Features :

  • Non-synthetic: grown in a botanical culture with the state-of-the-art NutriGenesis® technology to mimic natural K2 as found in food.

Benefits for D3+K2:

Similarly to vitamin D, vitamin K is a group of fat-soluble compounds. Naturally occurring forms include vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) synthesized by green, leafy plants and vitamin K2 (menaquinone) produced by bacteria in the small intestine but also present in fermented foods. Out of the two, the K2 form is more effectively utilized by the body for building strong bones and promoting heart health.

It works best in conjunction with vitamin D as these two micronutrients provide synergistic bone and cardiovascular effects.

In research, vitamin K2 has been shown to:

  • Promote bone mineralization by activating osteocalcin - a bone-building hormone production of which is stimulated by vitamin D.
  • Support cardiovascular health by decreasing the risk of the calcification of soft tissues i.e. arteries.
  • Maintain healthy blood clotting processes.
